TEAM AVS AWARDED DANA FARBER YAWKEY CENTER FOR CANCER CARE – A SILVER LEED CERTIFICATION PROJECT
November 2008: Team AVS, a leading service provider of integrated security systems in the Northeast, was awarded The Yawkey Center for Cancer Care project. The new 275,000 square-foot Center will provide Dana-Farber with world-class outpatient care and clinical research facilities that will serve as the model for cancer centers of the future. The 13-story facility will accommodate a dramatic growth in demand for outpatient services and clinical research trials within a family-centered care model. Therefore, the security system design will accommodate this growth potential and ensure patient and staff safety. In addition to security challenges, Walsh Brothers is addressing several complex challenges on the project such as the required isolation of vibration from the neighboring Medical Area Total Energy Plant (MATEP) facility - the power source for the Longwood Medical Area. This impressive project is seeking SILVER LEED Certification.
