TEAM AVS AWARDED FREEPORT VILLAGE STATION IN FREEPORT, MAINE
March 2008: Team AVS, a leading service provider of integrated security systems in the Northeast, was awarded new project. Freeport Village Station, a 120,000 sq. ft., state-of-the-art outlet center, designed to enhance Freeport's authentic 19th century New England retail village. Freeport Village Station creates a new outlet shopping and dining destination, offering over 30 new retailers and restaurants and including a first for Freeport, a free covered parking deck accommodating 550 cars right in the center of Maine's most popular outlet shopping mecca.
Viewpoint one of Team AVS’s Remote Video Monitoring partners, was tasked with providing top notch 24/7/365 security services, mall information services, emergency assistance, and parking garage assistance while helping to contain the operational cost of such services. Through the utilization of the Viewpoint Video Voice System, area of rescue telephone system, and the 2 way live video and audio touch screen information kiosk system (in place of a manned information booth) the solution is less expensive and more effective for the shopping center.
Working with the developers, Viewpoint and their technology partners created a hosted solution utilizing a kiosk management system and data center infrastructure. Each kiosk connects to a Self Service Network Management server via Virtual Private Network (VPN) connections over the public Internet and perform transactions via remote web service function calls. Web-based Administration functionality allows management the ability to manage product inventory and produce reports to support business operations. The new kiosk system allows customers to contact Viewpoint in real time via 2 way live video and audio for assistance with directions, restaurant reservations, and other customer service needs.
